Overview

PlGF-2123-144-anti-PD-L1 is a novel bispecific fusion protein designed to simultaneously target tumor angiogenesis and immune evasion. Developed by researchers at Sichuan University, the molecule consists of a specific Placental Growth Factor (PlGF)-binding peptide, designated 2123-144, fused to an anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody. By neutralizing PlGF, the drug inhibits the recruitment of pro-angiogenic and immunosuppressive cells to the tumor microenvironment, while the anti-PD-L1 component blocks the interaction between PD-L1 and PD-1, restoring T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that this dual-targeting approach provides superior anti-tumor efficacy compared to monotherapies by synergistically remodeling the tumor microenvironment and enhancing immune cell infiltration.
