plozasiran

Plozasiran is an apolipoprotein C-III-targeted small interfering RNA medicine developed by Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals using its TRiM RNAi platform. It is designed to silence hepatic APOC3 mRNA, lowering ApoC-III protein levels and thereby reducing triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and serum triglycerides. The drug has been developed for familial chylomicronemia syndrome and hypertriglyceridemia disorders including severe hypertriglyceridemia, is administered by subcutaneous injection approximately once every three months in pivotal studies, and was approved by the U.S. FDA in November 2025 as Redemplo for adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome as an adjunct to diet. Public sources also identify the program under the code names ARO-APOC3, VSA001, and SAR449124, with Greater China rights licensed to Sanofi through Arrowhead's subsidiary Visirna Therapeutics.
