PLP-33

PLP-33 is an investigational cannabinoid-based pharmaceutical candidate being developed primarily for the treatment of colonic polyps and colorectal pre-cancerous polyps, with the goal of preventing progression to colorectal cancer.[5][7][10] Developed by CNBX Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with its subsidiary Digestix Bioscience, PLP-33 is described as a proprietary formulation derived from isolated cannabinoid extracts that showed activity in ex vivo studies on polypoid colorectal tissue, suggesting potential to reduce polyp burden and serve as a chemopreventive intervention in colorectal neoplasia.[7][10] Although detailed composition, specific cannabinoid targets, and pharmacology have not been publicly disclosed, PLP-33 is positioned within CNBX’s broader pipeline of cannabinoid-based anti-neoplastic and pre-neoplastic therapies, leveraging preclinical evidence of cannabinoids’ effects on colorectal epithelial and tumor-derived cells.[2][7]
