Overview

Pluripotent stem cell-derived mesenchymal stem cell exosome (PSC-MSC-Exo) is an investigational biologic therapy consisting of extracellular vesicles harvested from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) that are derived from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs). These exosomes function as paracrine mediators, delivering a complex cargo of bioactive molecules—including microRNAs, proteins, and lipids—to recipient cells. In ophthalmic applications, PSC-MSC-Exo is formulated as eye drops to leverage its anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerative properties to treat dry eye disease. The therapy is designed to promote corneal epithelial healing and restore ocular surface homeostasis, particularly in patients experiencing dry eye symptoms following refractive surgery or in association with blepharospasm.
