Overview

Plutavimab (COVI-AMG, STI-2020) is a monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of COVID-19. It was engineered for ultra-high potency and designed to neutralize SARS-CoV-2 by targeting its spike glycoprotein (S protein), thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. The antibody demonstrated strong neutralizing activity against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants in preclinical studies and was intended for intravenous administration with a low effective dose suitable for outpatient use. Plutavimab was developed by Sorrento Therapeutics and advanced through Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials before being discontinued[3][4][7].
