Drug intelligence / Profile preview
pM-PTH(1-11), also known as palmitoyl(p)M-PTH(1-11) or Palm-11-M-PTH(1-11), is a lipidated parathyroid hormone (PTH) peptide fragment analog that acts as a potent agonist of the parathyroid hormone 1 receptor (PTH1R). Developed by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, the peptide features a palmitoyl lipid chain appended to the side chain of lysine at position 11. This modification is designed to anchor the ligand to the cell membrane, extending receptor dwell time and prolonging downstream signaling. pM-PTH(1-11) is being preclinically evaluated for the treatment of skeletal dysplasias, specifically achondroplasia, where intermittent subcutaneous administration has been shown to improve growth plate architecture and promote longitudinal bone growth in mouse models.
