Overview

PMB-109 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Protheragen that targets thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). TSLP is an upstream epithelial-derived cytokine that plays a central role in the inflammatory cascade associated with asthma by activating multiple downstream pathways, including Th2-driven inflammation. By binding to and neutralizing TSLP, PMB-109 is designed to prevent the interaction with its receptor complex, thereby reducing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. This mechanism is particularly relevant for patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma who do not respond adequately to standard inhaled corticosteroids.
