Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PMB-131 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Protheragen that targets mannan-binding lectin-associated serine protease-2 (MASP-2). MASP-2 is a key enzyme in the lectin pathway of the complement system, which plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. By inhibiting MASP-2, PMB-131 aims to prevent the downstream activation of the complement cascade, thereby reducing tissue damage and inflammation. The primary indication under investigation is IgA nephropathy (IgAN), a chronic kidney disease characterized by the deposition of IgA complexes in the glomeruli.
