PMB-211

PMB-211 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Protheragen that targets connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), also known as CCN2. CTGF is a secreted matricellular protein that plays a central role in the pathogenesis of fibrosis by mediating the downstream effects of pro-fibrotic cytokines such as transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β). It promotes the synthesis of extracellular matrix components and the activation of myofibroblasts, which are key drivers of tissue scarring. By neutralizing CTGF, PMB-211 aims to inhibit these fibrotic processes and is currently being investigated in preclinical studies for the treatment of various fibrotic diseases.
