Overview

PMC-002R is a recombinant protein therapeutic developed by Pharmicell, designed as a potent agonist of the Tie2 receptor. It serves as a stabilized variant of human Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1), a critical growth factor involved in vascular maturation, endothelial cell survival, and the maintenance of vascular integrity. By binding to and activating the Tie2 receptor on endothelial cells, PMC-002R triggers downstream signaling pathways that promote angiogenesis and reduce vascular permeability. The drug is primarily being developed to treat conditions characterized by vascular insufficiency or damage, such as critical limb ischemia (CLI) and erectile dysfunction (ED). Its engineered structure aims to overcome the inherent instability and manufacturing complexities of native Ang-1, providing a more viable clinical candidate for regenerative vascular medicine.
