Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PMC-402 is a therapeutic monoclonal antibody developed by PharmAbcine that functions as a TIE2 receptor agonist. It is designed to act as a vessel stabilizer by mimicking the activity of angiopoietin-1 (ANGPT1), thereby regulating the formation of functional blood vessels and normalizing leaky vasculature. Unlike natural ligands, PMC-402 activates TIE2 in a ligand-independent manner. This normalization of the tumor microenvironment is intended to enhance the infiltration of immune cells and improve the delivery of co-administered anti-cancer agents. Beyond its primary focus on oncology, including colon cancer, PMC-402 is being explored for the treatment of neovascular ocular diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy, as well as systemic conditions like sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
