Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PMC-901 is a bevacizumab biosimilar currently in preclinical development by PharmAbcine. It is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), a key mediator of angiogenesis in tumors and certain eye diseases. PMC-901 is developed using a high-productivity cell line with a titer of 3g/L, which is reported to be higher than that of the originator product, Avastin. As a biosimilar, it aims to provide a highly similar therapeutic profile to bevacizumab for the treatment of various solid tumors and potentially ophthalmic conditions.
