PMF90

PMF90 is a high-purity polymethoxylated flavonoid (PMF) extract derived from the peel of the Shikuwasa citrus fruit (*Citrus depressa*). It primarily consists of nobiletin (approximately 60-65%) and tangeretin (approximately 25-30%). Developed by the Okinawa Research Center in collaboration with Japanese academic institutions, PMF90 is utilized as a functional food and dietary supplement, particularly in Japan. Its mechanism of action involves the antagonism of muscarinic M1 receptors and the inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity, specifically PDE5, which helps relax urinary smooth muscle and improve lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) such as nocturia and frequent urination. Additionally, PMF90 exhibits neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties by modulating the NLRP3 inflammasome and inhibiting the upregulation of connexin 43. It has been investigated for its potential to improve cognitive function in elderly subjects and attenuate neurodegeneration in preclinical models.
