Overview

PMG151 is an improved traditional medicine (MTA) developed by the Centre for Traditional Medicine and Integrated Care (CMTSI) at the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé (IRSS) in Burkina Faso. It is a standardized botanical extract derived from *Piliostigma reticulatum*, a plant traditionally used in West Africa for various medicinal purposes. PMG151 is specifically formulated for the management of HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is currently being evaluated in Phase IV clinical trials as a daily oral supplement intended to enhance the immune response and improve the overall health of individuals living with HIV, whether they are treatment-naive or currently on antiretroviral therapy (ART). The extract is believed to possess immunomodulatory properties that support CD4+ T-cell counts and overall clinical status in HIV-positive populations.
