Overview

PMN400 is a therapeutic peptide vaccine candidate developed by ProMIS Neurosciences for the treatment of synucleinopathies, including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), and Lewy Body Dementia. The vaccine targets toxic misfolded forms of the alpha-synuclein protein, which aggregate in brain cells and are believed to drive neurodegeneration in these disorders. Using a proprietary computational platform, ProMIS identified unique conformational epitopes present only on misfolded alpha-synuclein aggregates. PMN400 is designed to stimulate an immune response that generates antibodies specifically against these toxic aggregates, aiming to clear them from affected neurons while sparing normal alpha-synuclein function. As of early 2024, PMN400 has been selected as the lead vaccine candidate for advancement into preclinical animal studies[1][3][5][6][7].
