Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PMN420 is a preclinical vaccine candidate developed by ProMIS Neurosciences for the treatment of TDP-43 proteinopathies, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), and Limbic-predominant Age-related TDP-43 Encephalopathy (LATE). The vaccine is designed to elicit an active immune response that selectively targets toxic TDP-43 protoaggregates while sparing the normal, physiological form of the TDP-43 protein. By targeting these misfolded aggregates, PMN420 aims to prevent the cell-to-cell spread of neurotoxic species and mitigate the neurodegeneration associated with TDP-43 pathology.
