Overview

PN-232 is a second-generation, oral peptide drug that acts as an interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) antagonist. It was developed as a gastrointestinal-restricted therapy intended to block the IL-23 pathway by inhibiting the IL-23 receptor. The drug was designed for potential use in diseases mediated by the IL-23 pathway and was being co-developed by Protagonist Therapeutics and Janssen Research & Development (a Johnson & Johnson company). Clinical development reached Phase 1 trials in healthy volunteers but has since been discontinued[2][3][5].
