Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PN-SIA28 is a cross-reactive monoclonal antibody developed by Pomona Ricerca for the treatment and prevention of influenza. It is designed to target conserved regions of both group 1 and group 2 hemagglutinins (HAs), which are the primary surface glycoproteins of the influenza virus. This broad-spectrum binding allows PN-SIA28 to neutralize a wide range of influenza A strains, including seasonal H1N1 and H3N2, as well as potentially pandemic strains like H5N6. By targeting conserved epitopes, PN-SIA28 aims to provide a universal therapeutic approach that remains effective despite the frequent antigenic drift and shift observed in influenza viruses. The candidate is currently in preclinical development.
