Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pn6B-TT is an investigational vaccine consisting of *pneumococcal polysaccharide type 6B* conjugated to *tetanus toxoid (TT)* protein. Its mechanism of action is to induce a protective immune response—primarily functional IgG1 antibodies—against Haemophilus influenzae type 6B, a serotype of *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, by presenting the bacterial polysaccharide in a T-dependent form to enhance immunogenicity in infants and children. It is administered intramuscularly according to a schedule designed for infant immunization, and has shown safety and increased opsonic antibody response in phase 1/2 trials. The vaccine is designed to protect against invasive pneumococcal diseases caused by serotype 6B.
