Overview

PNB-001 is a novel small molecule drug developed by PNB Vesper Life Sciences. It acts as a dual cholecystokinin (CCK) receptor ligand—specifically as a CCK-A (cholecystokinin A) receptor agonist and CCK-B (cholecystokinin B/gastrin) receptor antagonist. This unique mechanism underlies its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immune-modulating properties. Preclinical studies have shown efficacy in models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), pain, and inflammation. Clinically, it has been evaluated for COVID-19 infection as an immune modulator in moderate cases and has demonstrated safety in Phase I trials with mild adverse events at high doses. The drug is orally administered and has also been explored for potential use in inflammatory pain conditions and small cell lung cancer[1][2][3][4][5].
