Overview

PNB-091 is a small molecule mixed antagonist of cholecystokinin (CCK) receptors currently under development by PNB Vesper Life Sciences for the treatment of cocaine addiction disorder. The drug is designed to block the action of cholecystokinin, a neuropeptide that modulates dopaminergic neurotransmission and reward-related behaviors in the brain. By acting as a mixed antagonist, PNB-091 targets both CCK-A and CCK-B receptors to potentially reduce the craving and relapse associated with cocaine use. The development program is conducted in collaboration with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). PNB-091 has completed initial preclinical studies and is currently in the IND-enabling stage, with preparations underway for Investigational New Drug (IND) regulatory filings.
