Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PNB-New #3 is a preclinical-stage nanoparticle formulation developed by Peptinovo Biopharma using its proprietary PALM™ (Peptide-Amphiphile Lipid Micelle) technology platform. The drug consists of the chemotherapy agent gemcitabine, a nucleoside analog, encapsulated within PALM™ nanoparticles designed for targeted delivery to tumor cells. Gemcitabine acts as a pyrimidine antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis by replacing cytidine during DNA replication and inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase, leading to apoptosis. The PALM™ delivery system is engineered to improve the therapeutic index of gemcitabine by enhancing tumor accumulation and reducing systemic toxicity through its nanoparticle carrier properties.
