Pneumo 23

**Pneumo 23** is a Sanofi 23-valent pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide vaccine for active immunization against disease caused by the *Streptococcus pneumoniae* serotypes represented in the product. It contains purified capsular polysaccharides from 23 pneumococcal serotypes and induces serotype-specific anti-capsular antibody responses that support opsonization and immune clearance of pneumococci. It is a non-conjugated polysaccharide vaccine, not a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, and is used to help prevent pneumococcal infections, including invasive disease and pneumococcal pneumonia, in individuals aged 2 years and older for whom vaccination is indicated.
