Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine** is Pfizer's CRM197-conjugated, aluminum-phosphate-adsorbed pneumococcal vaccine marketed as **Prevnar 13** and **Prevenar 13**. It contains capsular polysaccharides from 13 *Streptococcus pneumoniae* serotypes, individually conjugated to the nontoxic diphtheria-derived carrier protein CRM197. Vaccination induces serotype-specific antibody responses, including opsonophagocytic activity, to prevent pneumococcal disease caused by vaccine serotypes, including invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumococcal pneumonia. Pfizer identifies this specific 13vPnC product by compound number PF-05208760. ([cdn.pfizer.com](https://cdn.pfizer.com/pfizercom/clinical%20trials/csr%20synopsis/B1851172%2520PDS.pdf))
