Overview

Pneumococcal 15-valent conjugate vaccine is a Merck pneumococcal polysaccharide-protein conjugate vaccine marketed as VAXNEUVANCE. It contains capsular polysaccharide antigens from 15 *Streptococcus pneumoniae* serotypes conjugated to the CRM197 carrier protein and is designed to induce serotype-specific functional antibody responses, including opsonophagocytic activity, to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease. The vaccine covers serotypes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, 22F, 23F, and 33F, including 22F and 33F beyond the serotypes in PCV13. In the United States, it is approved for active immunization against invasive disease caused by these serotypes in individuals aged 6 weeks and older.
