Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The drug name refers to a combination immunization regimen developed by GSK, consisting of an investigational heptavalent vaccine (GSK2202083A) and a 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (Synflorix). GSK2202083A is designed to protect against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib), and meningococcal C (MenC). Synflorix (GSK1024850A) provides protection against 10 serotypes of *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. This co-administered regimen was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials in healthy infants to assess safety and immunogenicity when given as a three-dose primary course. The approach aims to simplify the pediatric vaccination schedule by providing broad protection against eight major childhood diseases in a single visit.
