Overview

PNSM024 (also known as FenAb024) is a monoclonal antibody being developed by Hepione Therapeutics, under license from Panosome, for the treatment of fentanyl and carfentanil overdose and poisoning. As an 'anti-opioid' antibody, it functions by binding to and sequestering synthetic opioids within the vascular compartment, thereby preventing them from crossing the blood-brain barrier to exert toxic effects on the central nervous system. This approach is intended to provide a high-affinity, long-lasting alternative or adjunct to traditional opioid antagonists like naloxone, with potential applications in both clinical emergency settings and biodefense for high-risk populations such as first responders and military personnel. The program is currently in the preclinical lead selection phase.
