Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PnuBioVax is a novel, next-generation pneumococcal vaccine developed to provide broad protection against *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. Unlike traditional polysaccharide or conjugate vaccines, PnuBioVax uses a multi-protein design targeting key antigens that are broadly conserved across *S. pneumoniae* strains, including pneumolysin and Pneumococcal surface antigen A (PsaA). The vaccine aims to induce robust antibody responses capable of neutralizing pneumolysin and other virulence factors, potentially reducing both disease incidence and asymptomatic carriage. Developed by ImmunoBiology Ltd (ImmBio), PnuBioVax has demonstrated safety and immunogenicity in Phase 1 clinical trials in healthy adults. The vaccine is being further developed for at-risk populations such as the young and elderly, with ongoing efforts toward broader clinical development through partnerships with organizations like China National Biotec Group (CNBG) and Lanzhou Institute of Biological Product (LIBP)[1][4][6][7][8].
