PNV-001 is a preclinical-stage, first-in-class oral small molecule therapeutic being developed by ProNovo Therapeutics for the treatment of depression. Founded by the scientists who previously developed Spravato (esketamine) at Janssen, ProNovo Therapeutics is positioning PNV-001 as a precision medicine approach that targets a novel downstream mechanism relative to ketamine-based therapies. The drug is designed to provide rapid-acting antidepressant efficacy while avoiding the dissociative and cognitive side effects typically associated with NMDA receptor modulators.
