Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pogejiuxin decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula originally developed by the physician Li Ke for the treatment of critical conditions such as heart failure and cardiogenic shock. The decoction typically consists of high doses of *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi) combined with *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), *Panax ginseng* (Renshen), *Mastodi Fossilium Os* (Longgu), and *Ostreae Concha* (Muli). Its primary therapeutic mechanism involves "restoring Yang and rescuing from collapse," which translates to improving cardiac function, stabilizing hemodynamics, and modulating neurohumoral factors. It is currently being investigated by the Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital for its efficacy and safety in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) when used as an adjunct to conventional Western medical treatments.
