Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pola Office Plus is a professional, high-concentration in-office dental whitening system developed by SDI Limited. It features a 37.5% hydrogen peroxide gel that is chemically activated, eliminating the need for a bleaching light to achieve results. The mechanism of action involves the release of reactive oxygen radicals that penetrate tooth enamel and dentin to oxidize and break down complex organic chromophores responsible for discoloration. To manage the common side effect of treatment-induced tooth sensitivity, the formulation incorporates potassium nitrate, which acts as a desensitizing agent by preventing the repolarization of sensory nerve fibers within the dental pulp. It is indicated for the rapid whitening of extrinsic and intrinsic tooth stains in a clinical setting.
