Overview

A combination of **polatuzumab vedotin** (a CD79b-directed antibody-drug conjugate) and **obinutuzumab** (a glycoengineered type II anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody), developed for hematological malignancies, particularly B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas. **Polatuzumab vedotin** targets CD79b on B cells and delivers the cytotoxic agent monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE), inducing apoptosis in dividing malignant B cells. **Obinutuzumab** binds CD20 on B cells, promoting antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and direct cell death. This combination has been studied for its enhanced antitumor activity and tolerability, especially in relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)[1][3][5][6].
