Overview
Polideribotide (also known as polydeoxyribonucleotide or PDRN) is a biologic DNA polymer developed by Mastelli Srl. Extracted and purified from the sperm of trout, polideribotide acts as an agonist of the adenosine A2A receptor. By activating this receptor and supplying purine nucleotides via the salvage pathway, it stimulates cell proliferation, promotes angiogenesis, modulates inflammatory cytokines, and accelerates tissue repair. It is marketed under the brand name Placentex (sometimes registered as Placentrex Integro) in Italy, where it is approved for wound healing and skin ulcers, and has been evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
