Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Poliomyelitis Vaccine Vero Cell Inactivated Sabin Strains** is Sinovac's single-dose, ready-to-use trivalent Sabin-strain inactivated poliovirus vaccine. Each 0.5 mL vial contains formaldehyde-inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 propagated in Vero cells, providing active immunization against poliomyelitis in infants from 2 months of age and children. The vaccine induces antibodies to all three poliovirus serotypes and is administered by intramuscular injection. This exact single-dose presentation was used as the active control comparator for Sinovac's five-dose multidose sIPV presentation trial; it contains no preservative, including no 2-phenoxyethanol. Sinovac received Chinese NMPA registration approval on July 12, 2021, and WHO prequalification became effective on June 6, 2022.
