**Poliovac** is a trivalent inactivated poliovirus vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India for active immunization against poliomyelitis caused by poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3. It contains inactivated Mahoney type 1, MEF-I type 2, and Saukett type 3 poliovirus antigens cultivated in Vero cells, inducing protective humoral immunity without replication of live virus. It is supplied as a 0.5 mL injectable vaccine and can be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The product was evaluated as Serum Institute of India IPV in the completed Fidec-sponsored Phase IV NCT01831050 study of supplemental IPV doses in Latin American infants previously vaccinated with bivalent oral poliovirus vaccine.
