Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PolipillV2 is an experimental fixed-dose combination (polypill) developed by Hospital do Coração (HCor) in Brazil for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. It contains four active ingredients: aspirin (75 mg), simvastatin (40 mg), lisinopril (10 mg), and hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg). This combination targets multiple cardiovascular risk factors simultaneously, including platelet aggregation, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. It was investigated in the SPACE (Single Pill to Avert Cardiovascular Events) trial to evaluate its efficacy in improving treatment compliance and reducing cardiovascular risk compared to usual care.
