Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pollenin B (PolB) is a compound extracted from Ephedrae Herba, currently under investigation for its protective effects in asthma. It has demonstrated the ability to improve asthma symptoms, modulate cytokine levels, and influence immune cell populations and arachidonic acid metabolism in asthmatic mice. Its anti-asthmatic effects are primarily mediated through the regulation of inflammatory pathways and arachidonic acid metabolism, as well as the JAK-STAT pathway, via its interaction with PPAR-γ.
