Pollinex Quattro Ragweed (Allergy Therapeutics PLC)

Pollinex Quattro Ragweed is an ultra-short-course allergy immunotherapy (AIT) developed by Allergy Therapeutics for the treatment of ragweed-induced allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis. The product is a Modified Allergen Tyrosine Adsorbate (MATA) formulated with Monophosphoryl Lipid A (MPL). It contains ragweed pollen allergoids—allergens chemically modified with glutaraldehyde to reduce IgE binding and the risk of systemic allergic reactions while preserving T-cell immunogenicity. These allergoids are adsorbed onto L-tyrosine, which acts as a physical depot for slow release at the injection site. The formulation includes MPL, a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist, which serves as an adjuvant to enhance the Th1-biased immune response and promote the induction of regulatory T cells. The 'Quattro' designation refers to the convenient four-injection pre-seasonal dosing regimen designed to improve patient compliance compared to traditional long-term immunotherapy.
