Overview

Poly-DA is a polydopamine-based nanoparticle therapeutic candidate being developed by ITL Pharma for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Polydopamine is a synthetic, biocompatible polymer inspired by the adhesive proteins of mussels, known for its potent intrinsic antioxidant properties. In the context of Alzheimer's disease, Poly-DA is designed to function as a multi-functional neuroprotective agent that scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and potentially inhibits the aggregation of amyloid-beta plaques. By mitigating oxidative stress and interfering with protein misfolding, Poly-DA aims to slow the neurodegenerative processes associated with the progression of the disease. It is part of ITL Pharma's proprietary polymer-based platform, which explores the therapeutic potential of polydopamine across various CNS and oncology indications.
