Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Poly-l-lysine G2 + vitamin C is a combination of a second-generation dendrigraft of poly-L-lysine (DGL2) and vitamin C (ascorbic acid), primarily developed for dermocosmetic and topical dermatological applications. Poly-L-lysine G2 acts as a biocompatible, biodegradable polymer that stabilizes and enhances the delivery of vitamin C to the skin. Vitamin C is well known for its antioxidant properties, stimulation of collagen synthesis, tissue repair, and regulation of inflammatory processes. The combination improves the stability and liposolubility of vitamin C—overcoming its inherent instability in cosmetic formulations—and increases its transcutaneous penetration. This results in enhanced moisturization, protection against oxidative stress, improved skin barrier function, reduced inflammation and pruritus (itching), as well as better tolerance with less irritation compared to standalone vitamin C products[1][3][7]. Clinical studies have shown significant improvements in atopic dermatitis symptoms with this combination[1]. Poly-L-lysine-based vectors are obtained via green chemistry methods.
