Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vantris is a biocompatible, synthetic, non-absorbable tissue-bulking agent composed of polyacrylate polyalcohol copolymer (PPC) particles suspended in a glycerol and physiological saline carrier. It is designed for the endoscopic treatment of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in children. When injected subureterally (using the STING or HIT techniques) at the ureterovesical junction, Vantris increases the tissue volume, correcting the anatomy of the distal ureter valve and preventing the retrograde flow of urine toward the kidneys. Because it is non-biodegradable, Vantris provides a stable, permanent bulk that resists degradation and migration, offering long-term efficacy in resolving VUR.
