Overview

Syscol is an ophthalmic lubricant (artificial tears) formulation containing polyethylene glycol 400 (0.4%) and propylene glycol (0.3%). Developed and marketed by Navana Pharmaceuticals, it is used for the temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort caused by dry eye syndrome. The active ingredients act as demulcents and lubricants on the ocular surface, increasing the viscosity and water-retention of the tear film to reduce friction, stabilize the pre-corneal tear film, and protect the eye from further irritation.
