Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Polymist Ultra is an ophthalmic lubricant solution containing a combination of polyethylene glycol 400 (0.4%) and propylene glycol (0.3%). Developed originally by Alcon (as Systane) and marketed by Akrovis, it is indicated for the temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort caused by dry eyes. The active ingredients function as demulcents that mimic natural tears, stabilizing the tear film and forming a protective gel matrix over the ocular surface to provide long-lasting hydration and shield the eyes from environmental irritants.
