Polymerized Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus allergoid is an allergen immunotherapy (AIT) product developed by Diater Laboratorio de Diagnósticos y Aplicaciones Terapéuticas, S.A. It consists of an allergenic extract derived from the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* that has been chemically modified through polymerization with glutaraldehyde. This polymerization process is intended to reduce the allergenicity (IgE-binding capacity) of the native extract, thereby enhancing safety by minimizing the risk of systemic allergic reactions, while preserving its immunogenicity to induce a protective immune response. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and mild-to-moderate allergic asthma associated with house dust mite sensitization. It is administered via the intradermal route and has been investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials to confirm the maximum non-reactive dose and evaluate safety in sensitized adults.
