Polymerized fibrin (HP802-247 vehicle) is a biologic scaffold component of the investigational cell therapy HP802-247, developed by Healthpoint Biotherapeutics. It is formed by the sequential topical application of fibrinogen and thrombin sprays, which react in situ to create a self-assembling provisional extracellular matrix. In clinical studies for thermal burns, this fibrin matrix was evaluated as a standalone treatment to determine its effect on the healing of partial-thickness wounds compared to standard treatments like white petrolatum. It serves as a structural scaffold that supports cell delivery and natural wound repair processes without the cellular components (keratinocytes and fibroblasts) of the full HP802-247 formulation.
