Polymerized grass pollen allergen extract is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT) product developed by Inmunotek. It consists of allergoids—allergens chemically modified with glutaraldehyde to form polymers. This modification reduces the extract's IgE-binding capacity, thereby improving safety by minimizing the risk of systemic allergic reactions, while maintaining the immunogenicity required for therapeutic efficacy. The product is derived from grass pollen species, specifically *Phleum pratense* (Timothy grass) and *Dactylis glomerata* (Orchard grass). In some formulations, the allergoids are conjugated with non-oxidized mannan from *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* to enhance targeting to dendritic cells. The primary mechanism of action is the induction of immune tolerance through the promotion of IL-10-producing regulatory T cells (Tregs). It is used to treat allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and mild-to-moderate asthma in patients sensitized to grass pollen.
