Polysaccharide peptide (PsP) is a botanical extract derived from the mycelium of the Indonesian *Ganoderma lucidum* mushroom group. It is primarily composed of β-1,3/1,6-D-glucan conjugated with peptides, forming a complex carbohydrate-peptide therapeutic agent. Developed by the University of Brawijaya in collaboration with Dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital, PsP is being investigated as an adjuvant therapy for various inflammatory and oxidative stress-related conditions, most notably cardiometabolic syndrome. Its mechanism of action involves potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, including the scavenging of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the modulation of immune responses. Clinical evaluation includes a Phase 2 trial (NCT05079529) for cardiometabolic syndrome, as well as studies in hypertension, myocardial infarction, obesity, and ulcerative colitis.
