Overview

Polyserp-P (also known as POLYSERP Pan-Africa) is a polyvalent equine-derived antivenom developed by Polyserp Therapeutics for the treatment of snake envenomation in Africa. It consists of F(ab')2 immunoglobulin fragments obtained from horses immunized against the venoms of 25 medically significant African snake species. These include the Boomslang (*Dispholidus typus*), burrowing asps (*Atractaspis* spp.), and 23 other species. The antivenom works by binding to and neutralizing the various toxins present in the snake venoms, preventing their systemic effects. It is currently approved for use in Africa.
