Overview
Polystictus glycopeptide is an immunomodulatory natural product extract derived from the deep fermentation mycelium of the fungus *Polystictus versicolor* (also known as *Coriolus versicolor* or Yunzhi). It is a complex glycopeptide composed of polysaccharide-peptide polymers. The drug functions primarily as an immunostimulant, enhancing the activity of macrophages, T-lymphocytes, and natural killer (NK) cells, while also inducing the production of various cytokines. In China, it is manufactured by companies such as Shenghua Pharmaceutical Technology and is approved for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, as an adjuvant therapy for liver cancer to improve immune function during chemotherapy or radiotherapy, and for addressing immune deficiency conditions in elderly patients.
