Overview

Pomalidomide + R-ICE is an investigational combination regimen consisting of pomalidomide, an immunomodulatory small molecule, added to the established R-ICE chemotherapy protocol (rituximab, ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide). This combination is being studied as a salvage therapy for patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who have failed first-line treatment. Pomalidomide acts by modulating the immune system and exerting direct antineoplastic effects through multiple mechanisms including degradation of transcription factors Ikaros and Aiolos. The addition of pomalidomide to R-ICE aims to improve complete response rates compared to standard R-ICE alone[1]. The regimen is currently under investigation in phase I/II clinical trials.
